"Edmond's a good guy, you know that? You can really trust him."  Monique had come into our office with her father, Randolph, who has been living with her since her mother passed away.

Randolph had forgotten to take his hearing aid out before getting in the shower and, having gotten wet, it was no longer working.

"Since I first called you, I tried your suggestion of putting it in a container of rice for a few days, but it's still not working."

The great news is that Randolph just had some wax in the hearing aid tube.  A quick cleaning of the hearing aid and replacement of the tube, at no charge, solved the problem.

"So many companies don't want to fix something that is broken.  Instead they try to sell you something new.  We're so lucky that, after having this hearing aid for almost five years, you still keep it going for us.  Right father?"

"I love my hearing aid!"  Evangeline blurted out.  Normally the type to sit quietly in the waiting room, I looked up to find her beaming.  "I can hear like I have never heard in my life before."

"Oh, I am so glad!"

Evangeline has never heard properly.  Deaf on one side, she has always worn a single hearing aid on her good ear because, as she says, "Something was better than nothing."  After years of wearing hearing aids that were, in her words, "Nothing special," she is over the moon about her new hearing aid.

"I've had hearing aids before, but I've never heard like this.  It is so clear and so natural.  You know what?  I was on the subway platform the other day and I could hear someone about fifteen feet away, talking to his friend."

"You'll make a great eavesdropper now!" I replied, and we had a good laugh together.

It is these random, unsolicited moments of joy and gratitude that make our work day such a source of happiness.

We were delighted to meet with a prospective Hearing Instrument Specialist student this month, who had contacted us to ask if she could spend the day in our clinic, seeing what the job is really all about. Having investigated many other clinics, she chose us after she discovered that we are an industry leader in best practices.  But that, alone, is not what she took away with her.  In a thank you note received the following day, she said...

And she's right.  We love serving our wonderful clients at Hearing Aid Source and some of the best feedback we get is when they tell us how much fun it is coming to the office.  When the time comes for you to consider having your hearing tested, we look forward to having as much fun with you!
